• Requirements for trademark registration:

1. power of attorney endorsed by the competent authority (ratification by the Yemeni embassy or consulate if the registration applicant is outside Yemen, or by the court if the registration applicant is inside Yemen)
2. A valid commercial certificate, or its equivalent outside Yemen
3. Photo of the trade mark intended to be registered
4. An Arabic translation by an accredited office for the documents written in a foreign language
5. The registration applicant’s declaration that the trade mark is his invention and is not an imitation or similar to a used or owned trade mark.

• Trademark registration procedures (periodically):

1. Submitting the trade mark registration application
2. Issuing of a decision by the Registrar to accept the trademark registration application
3. (Submitting a grievance in the event of refusing the registration application or conditional acceptance to make an amendment within thirty days)
4. Declaring the registration application via a widespread media mean
5. A period of 90 days to file an opposition application to the trademark registration request (Challenging the decision (either acceptance or rejection) issued by the Registrar in relation to the objection submitted against the trademark registration application shall be within 30 days from the date of informing the concerned parties of the decision)
6. Granting the trademark applicant a registration certificate – after the opposition period has elapsed – to be publicized via a widespread media mean.
   A protection is to be granted for the trademark for 10 years.
